One such project of which could only be accurately described as the "Nintendo Bible" was a sacred book to Thomas. The book served as a close companion to Thomas video game playing exploits as it contained all of the secrets and tips for beating many of the Nintendo Games available at the time. The story of the book's origin went something like this: Thomas had rented a Nintendo game called Ducktales, based on the popular animated children's show from Disney.

Thomas enjoyed Ducktakes very much and he was able to get to the final enemy boss encounter in the game, but unfortunately for Thomas he was not witty enough at the time to figure out how to win against this particular enemy. Frustrated, Thomas thought back to one of his Nintendo Power issues where he remembered a letter being sent in to the Nintendo Power staff asking them to explain how to beat this exact enemy. The entire method of how to do this was documented in full within this issue, however Thomas did not have this exact issue with him at the time and Thomas was left with no other choice but to return the rented game without finishing it. This was of course the first and the last time this would ever happen as Thomas decided to figure out a way to counter this and prevent this from ever happening again. Thus, the book known as the Nintendo Bible was created as a means of capturing every secret, every code, every boss strategy and every map possible that Thomas could get his hands on, all contained within one holy book of secrets. With this book in hand, Thomas now had the power to complete any challenge that any game would throw at him. Thomas was often seen updating this book and adding new content to it over the span of many years. Not only did this book contain codes, secrets, and cut-outs from various magazines, but also a great deal of artwork and hand-written information about his own progress in games including a list of games finished and awards that Nintendo Power would send to "Super Power Club" members in order to make their subscribers feel better about themselves as the addicted video gamers that they were because "Now they were playing with Power!" as their slogan said.

Some of these awards were gold-plated medals which Thomas thought was very cool. So cool in fact that Thomas also even ate Nintendo Cereal when it was released for a limited time span under the catchy but ridiculous advertising slogan, "Nintendo! It's a Cereal Now! Nintendo! You can eat it! Wow!" and "If you can't beat'em, eat'em."

Eventually Thomas received his first handheld video game system called the "Game Boy" for his birthday which he was finally allowed to bring home during his visitations from his mother's house.

Thomas played many a Game Boy game and became extremely hooked on games such as Double Dragon, Metroid II: The Return of Samus and Zelda: Links Awakening. Wherever Thomas went his Game Boy was sure to follow and Thomas was satisfied with this arrangement for many years.

That was until the Super Nintendo was released. The Super Nintendo which was Nintendo's next video game console system featured state of the art graphics and everything about the hardware and software was superior to the original Nintendo and Game Boy.

Of course, the Super Nintendo was very expensive when it was first released and Thomas again had no way to afford it or even come close to affording it for that matter. But Thomas struggled to find a way to make it happen. It took years after the console's release to save up enough money for the Super Nintendo, but eventually persistence paid off and only one challenge was left to Thomas: Getting his father's approval for the purchase of this expensive console. Initially Thomas' father did not think of the investment as a wise investment nor did he consider it wise to have another video game playing machine in the house given Thomas' history and addiction. Eventually however, Thomas' own father subsided and allowed the purchase to be made. It was one of the greatest days in Thomas' lifetime. Thomas thought of this day as a great victory as he opened his newly purchased Super Nintendo complete with Zelda: A Link to the Past which to Thomas was easily one of the most best games to ever come out for the system along with the next Metroid and Mega Man series installments of course.

From this point on, it was completely hopeless for Thomas to change his ways as he has since created many more video game projects, plays video games and even so much as attends Video Game Concerts when given the opportunity to do so. Thomas even runs his own video gaming website called "Mirai Gamer" where he frequently hosts his video game projects and various website tribute projects designed around getting more people addicted to video games. Unfortunately for Thomas a career such as becoming a doctor is out of the question. No, we are afraid the only path left for Thomas is to actually become a Game Designer. We however fear that if Thomas is ever granted the opportunity to make video games of his own, his unique form of video game addiction may in fact pass on to future generations of children. At least this article accurately describes the process of how Thomas' addiction came about so that future studies can be made to perhaps end video game addiction once and for all.
