TITLE: Outer Limits MEDIUM: Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Maya, Digital Photography
This was a final project for my UGA photoshop class. Originally the professor said that we could go with two themes for the final project, with one being the theme of "Outer Limits" and the other being that of creating an image in the likeness of yourself, only making it into a cyborg. I chose the "RoboMe" project initially, and started building a 3-D human skeleton in Maya. However as the deadline was fast approaching, I decided later to convert it over to the "Outer Limits" theme with one day left. Haha....Yikes. Probably not the smartest plan when I look back on it, but in a pinch I think I was able to pull off a very interesting composition. Many of the students who chose the theme of "Outer Limits" decided to do various photographs with images poping out of them into an imaginary real space. I wanted to achieve a similar effect while showcasing some of my 3-D modeling work, including the newly built human skeleton model. I was also excited to try out a new process that I had just learned about, in that 3-D models could now be imported into photoshop for some interesting layouts. It all worked out in the end and I'm pretty happy with how it all turned out.
