TITLE: Musical Muse MEDIUM: Adobe Photoshop This was a photoshop project for a digital media class. The project was to create a set of nine 8x8 squares that would be a collage of various scanned images that students would bring to class and upload to a server, creating a type of image "grab bag". The requirements of the project were to use the images gathered and through digital manipulation and repetition create a variety of interesting designs. I wanted not only for each individual square to be a stand alone image, but I wanted for all of the images together to be able to be read as a central image or theme. I started experimenting with quite a few images as well as various color ed backgrounds and eventually the theme of music came into play. As a result I ended up with a central narrative signifying both the listener and the artist and what the listener feels when listening to the music created by the musical artist, while the colors themselves indicate various emotions or moods when listening to music.
