TITLE: Lynx/Yamaneko Costume Design MEDIUM: Mixed Media Costume, Performance Back in the day when I used to be heavily into anime (Japanese animation) I used to frequent many anime conventions and participate in cosplay contests. Very geeky I know, however I really enjoyed the craft of making a costume and I developed many of the course of several years of con-going including Parn, from Record of Lodoss War, Cloud Strife, from Final Fantasy VII, and Himura Kenshin, from Rurouni Kenshin. My final work was of Lynx, a character from a game called Chrono Cross who was a seven-foot tall demi-human mountain lion/man who wore a dark, patterned suit of armour adorned with saphire coloured jewels and purple coloured vestments. I made the whole costume to be a full body costume and I think it turned out pretty nicely in the end. At the time of the actual cosplay contest at one of the cons I won for the category of "best single costume and skit" for randomly singing the meow mix theme through a mic on stage. I remember that the audience was roaring with laughter by the end of the show. I still remember how that felt to be cheered on by so many people...
