TITLE: Figure Drawing - Abstraction and Transformation MEDIUM: Charcoal
A nude figure drawing that has been altered and transformed into something abstract over a five piece series. When I first decided to do an abstracted tranformation on this particular drawing, I saw that the platform upon which the model was sitting could be a tree stump, while her body and hair (which was a bright redish-brown) might be a form of flower or plant. The model's feet were buried in the folds of the cloth surrounding the base of the platform and it looks like a river or stream. So I went with this concept and began to transform the drawings into that of what I envisioned.
