This
was a typography project for my a digital media class where
the project was to create an project where upon seeing it for
the first time, you instinctly would know that you were looking
at an image but your first impulse would be to read the image(s)
as text. For this project I took several photographs of my two
cats, Nyausicaa and Sakura and tried to acquire photos of interesting
poses and positions. This is by no means an easy task I assure
you as getting a cat to do what you want them to do is niegh
impossible. However, over the course of a few days I was able
to create a 26 character alphabetical font set from my cats
and attempted to spell out a secret message:
| Save the Cheerleader, Save the World |
Highlight Box
to View
For those that are unfamiliar
with this phrase, it is a specific tagline from a popular NBC
show that I enjoy. I liked the idea of my cats spelling out
a secret message that was both cryptic and comical. The method
in which this project was originally presented was in a 12 piece
card puzzle with each card showing only a section of the larger
image above, making it a challenge to put together and even
more of a challenge to solve the riddle.
